I did it again for my birthday

It may seem that when I'm out with the girls, copious amounts of alcohol seem to be used. As I remarked to May when I went to pick her up for Gill's wedding that I actually had to think of which car park to turn in as I have never been to her house in the day.
But its all good and my birthday was no exception. What started out as an innocent cocktail mix of margaritas at my place (which came out rather well for my first time) became a complete chaos of a night that saw us going from cafe iguana, to MOS, to pump room and back to MOS and ended up with me stumbling home at 500 am and suffering from the worse hangover ever on my birthday. And yes, it happened last year too. Next year, I'm driving.

The Girls and Bintan

I'll let the pictures do the talking. Needless to say, many bottles of champagne were bought, vodka was sneaked into the pool area in mineral water bottles, Melissa ate as if there was no tomorrow while managing to stay out of the sun the whole time, the whole lot of them suffered after their massages from headaches (could it have been the alcohol, dehydration and the sun?), I had my usual allergy attack, seafood dinner and we all slept at 11 pm. All this in 2 days.

A typical night out with the girls

After decades (yes almost 2 decades) of knowing each other, I can safely say that these girls are truly my best friends. At this stage of our friendship, we have an almost innate ability to understand each other. I look forward to Friday or Saturday nights religiously now because it seems that we seem to be having more and more fun as each year goes by. They always make me laugh and smile... I can most certainly be myself and I always have the greatest time be it eating, talking, dancing, laughing or complaining about our growing number of ailments. Together with my ol sis who is almost my carbon copy in character, we are an unstoppable force. My colleague once asked me when she saw their many photos on my desk who these girls were and without even thinking, I said, they are my family.
